For many years, our founder - Alfonso Ferdinand, had struggled with the lack of reliable and trustworthy information relating to his home country - Jamaica, due to the fact that there wasn't any unity in the gathering of information and the low level of interest in authenticity. This lead him to create workshops on the history of Jamaica, reggae music and its culture on a whole in most major cities of Japan in the nineties.

There he found out that people who took part in his workshops were always asking for a more detailed explanation and or information. That means they were eager to learn more than what could be taught in a one-hour workshop. This is when he got the idea of creating a medium to provide authentic information, courses and training to local Japanese. All at one location.

Braata is equipped to accommodate most of what the embassy, tourist board and information centre are not able or prepared to. Subsequently, becoming a unique channel unlike any other.
